Friday Female: Mary Elizabeth Winstead
So for the last time I did Friday Female it was a blondie, so this week I have decided to go with a brunette, and not just any brunette, Mary Elizabeth Winstead herself. She’s not your typical sexy hollywood bombshell, but she sure does rustle my jimmies. So enjoy some choice photos I picked out.
I’m currently drooling over the screen, so I’m pretty much done here. I hope you enjoyed it and enjoyed our pick for the hottest chick of the week. Thank you Miss Winstead, for being so damn good looking.
Stuff We Like: Adventure Time
It’s a bit odd actually. I’m writing my second article in two days, and I’m writing (yet again) about an animated series. Weird because I’m the only one writing about animated series and the other half of Lazy Inc is named the Anime Man for christ’s sake. Oddity aside let’s get into this. I spend my days doing a mixture of things, things that many of you do not want to know, but mainly I sit on my couch and watch Cartoon Network for hours on end. The reason for watching so many cartoons is not because I’m a stoner with no job and parents who don’t love me, but because of one show, Adventure Time.
Here’s the brief. Adventure Time was created by some fat nerd with a beard and glasses, who also smokes a lot of weed, and I mean a lot of weed, I’m talking about the same amount of weed that you find in Jamaica, named Pendleton Ward. It also happens that this man is a genius. The show revolves around two characters, Finn the human and Jake the dog. The show is set in a post-apocalyptic world called Ooo and the history of the place is really quite confusing and complex. I’m going to try and explain it in a sentence, so wish me luck (actually I don’t need luck, luck is for losers). So the world was altered due to a Mushroom War, which many chat room nerds have theorized was a nuclear war, that destroyed most of the planet and altered many of the animals and objects on Earth. This explains why there are all these messed up things, like the fact that Jake the dog is magical and all the candy is alive and can talk and do everything that a human can do, among other weird and wonderful things. There is definitely more about the history that I haven’t mentioned and have missed, so if you want to check out more about it, there are many nerds on a variety of different forums on the internet who will talk on end about this stuff, so look it up on google or something.
Finn and Jake – the two main characters. God I wish my childhood was this cool
So here’s the part of the post where I tell you why I like Adventure Time so much, so buckle your seat belts anonymous internet audience. As a fan of cartoons anyways, and with a mind of a child, it’s easy to think why I love Adventure Time. The good thing about Adventure Time is that it’s not really a kid’s show. A lot of the themes are extremely dark, and there are a number of scenes in the show where it isn’t really appropriate for kids to be watching, but we overlook that because the cutest characters are usually saying the weirdest things. Anyways, the show is amazing because it, like The Simpsons (which I wrote a fantastic post about yesterday), is not based on fart jokes and all that shit, it has meaning behind it and the jokes can be laughed at by anyone, because they are funny, and make you think.
This is where they live. Coolest house ever
The show also has a sentimental side, and there are a lot of times where the show will make you laugh and cry at the same time (not me though, because I’m the terminator, but for the mortal human such as yourself it can be pretty tear jerking). There are a number of life lessons that can be learnt in the show. One of the main things about the characters in general that I like are that almost all of the female characters are really strong and independent, breaking the Disney model of females being damsels in distress, with most of these chicks being able to kick ass. There is also a shit ton of fan art made by the nerds that I have previously mentioned, however these nerds are talented nerds, so they can draw and talk to girls.
I imagine the Anime man would be a fan of this
So my favourite character in the show is either Lumpy Space Princess (LSP) or Peppermint butler, commonly referred to as P-butt, and here is an image showcasing why LSP is my joint favourite.
OMG it’s a moving image…what is this wizardry?
So in conclusion, Adventure Time is a super cool super crazy cartoon made by stoners and loved by everybody. So I’m finished and tired because I’m not built to write two articles in one day, so kindly fuck off and leave me to my business.
Friday Female: Misa Campo
Well, seeing as I have to talk about beautiful ladies, I’m naturally excited about writing this post. The hardest part of course was to choose who my first Friday Female was going to be.
Of course, there are many beautiful women in the world; no matter the age or ethnicity. But I figured that, as I am half Japanese, I would represent the Asian side of the spectrum and go for an Asian beauty.
And thus, I present to you my first Friday Female, which has been proudly won by none other than Misa Campo.
Once you turn Asian, you’ll never go back.
Trust me. That’s how this sh*t works.
Stuff We Like: The Art of Rap
So, I’ve been really into documentaries at the moment, mainly due to the fact that I have to do a uni subject pertaining to making documentaries, so in a way I’ve been kind of forced into watching them. However, I have enjoyed this little dabble in this art form. So I’ve grown fond of documentaries, and I’m also a big fan of rap music, therefore, some would say I would be stupid not to like a documentary about rap, and in this instance, that is definitely true.
For my studies at university I wrote a short description and brief analysis of this documentary, so I will copy and paste that in know for you guys to read, and I will probably write some comments after if I feel like it. I apologise now for my poor attempt at writing academically, I had to… don’t judge me.
“Something from Nothing: The Art of Rap (2012)
United States of America
Directed by Ice T and Andy Baybutt
Produced by Paul Toogood
Running time: 107 minutes
The Art of Rap is a feature length theatrically released documentary about rap music. It follows Ice T, who many regard as the godfather of Gangsta Rap, who gives the audience access into the lives of those who create and have mastered the art form of rap music. This documentary is clearly participatory, as Ice T acts as the director and narrator, showing his power and status within the industry, but also as a subject of the documentary, illustrating how powerful and influential rap music has been throughout his life. The participatory nature of the film allows for a journey which is intimate and personal, with a number of scenes containing just the director with his own narration, delving into his thoughts and experiences with rap.
Throughout the documentary, Ice T allows for the rap greats in which he interviews to create a rhyme and perform it, all the while discussing the thought processes behind their masterpieces, allowing for the audience to better understand and truly appreciate rap as an art form, rather than just a lyrical form of music. Overall, the Art of Rap illustrates the personal nature of the participatory form of documentary, with the film acting as more of a personal journey than an in-depth look into rap music itself. Personally, I found the somewhat performative “journey” which Ice T takes throughout the film to be captivating and this allows for a greater connection to the audience. ”
So hopefully that got rid of all the general shit about the movie. Now, I’m happy to go into a little more detail, until something more interesting comes up, or I decide to look at beautiful women on the internet. Anyways, in the Art of Rap, as previously mentioned, there are a number of cameos from big name rappers, everybody from Eminem to Melle Mel, you name it if they’ve spat a rhyme they are in this movie. May I add some of these performances are amazing. It’s ridiculous how some of them can just open their mouths without writing anything down and expel some of the greatest oratory genius not seen since Jesus and the bible, and you know how that ended (he was so good they had to crucify him).
Jesus after spitting a totally dope rhyme
Ice T in this documentary is also amazing. May I just add him acting as the “Godfather of Gangsta Rap” is probably the biggest badass since Chuck Norris began kicking people in the face. Ice T should act like this in all the movies and shows he is in. His character in Law and Order would be so much cooler if he was spitting rhymes and capping people’s asses in the process of solving crimes with those two other terrible actors.
Moral of the story: Ice T = Total Badass
So today we learnt that rappers are cool and documentaries can be awesome when they are about something as cool as rappers. So the movie is cool and go watch it if you have 107 minutes to spare or are in between doing things which are interesting. I doubt they would be as interesting as this movie, but I digress. What are you waiting for? Go and watch it you idiots!
Friday Female: Ashley Benson
Lazyinc is a corporation run by two straight males. As expected, the title of stuff we like includes the creatures of the opposite sex…that we would like to have sex with. So the powers at be higher up in management have decided that we should give those lovely ladies their own segment, so we did. We decided to call it the Friday Female because we just love the punch of a title with alliteration. So who did we choose to be the first ever Friday Female you ask? Well it was my decision and I decided that we should go with… drum roll please… Ashley Benson! Why? Because she is so hot that I feel dirty just typing about her.
Ashley Benson, congratulations on being the first ever Lazyinc Friday Female! And congrats for being hot.
Trust me guys, your eyes will thank me later.
You’re welcome.
Stuff We Like: The Pillows
So if you don’t know, I am a huge fan of international music; especially Japanese music (since I am half Japanese). And it seems that a lot of people are starting to understand the awesomeness in Japanese rock aka J-rock; it gives us a little glimpse of music that isn’t sung in English and is very different and refreshing from what you would otherwise normally hear. And I think that’s one of the fundamental reasons why international music is slowly creeping its way into English-oriented communities and countries.
Hi, I’m theanimeman. And today on “Stuff We Like”, I talk about one of my new favourite band, The Pillows.
Stuff We Like: Scott Pilgrim vs The World
Before I begin describing this delight of a film I am going to leave a disclaimer. This movie is not a Mona Lisa of cinematography. It is no Inception, nor is it the Dark Knight, or Memento, it is not any Christopher Nolan film altogether. But by god is it fun, and to be honest that’s all I want when I watch a movie. And a super sweet hot chick, and this movie has that too.
Scott Pilgrim vs The World is based on the graphic novel of the same name, and I would advise reading those too (I haven’t been bothered reading them but if you can get your hands on them I imagine you should read it, not many other things you can do with a book these days). The plot goes along the lines of a basic romantic comedy Scott Pilgrim is a slacker nobody who meets the girl of his dreams. However, the plot thickens (I love that phrase by the way) when Scott finds out that he has to fight Ramona’s (the girl) seven evil ex’s.
The traditional romantic comedy plot is shown a new angle, and this is really refreshing. Also, this movie is more than just a romantic comedy. There is some action in there, and some darker scenes as well which makes this movie difficult for some to follow. Mentioning the action, oh my lord the action. Some of the fight scenes would make Quentin Tarantino explode in his pants. Well, maybe not, as there isn’t much blood and gore. However the movie is just loaded with action packed fight scenes with swords and punching and kicking and all that good stuff. There is even a girl on girl fight scene, and what straight male doesn’t want to see two chicks trying to kill each other with a giant hammer and twin hand blades?
My reaction to the girl on girl fight in this film.
The main reason why I love this film though, isn’t the sweet ass fight scenes or the hot chicks, but the comedy. The awkwardness of Scott Pilgrim, shown perfectly by Michael Cera (as Cera has never really played anything other than the awkward naive character), as well as some great writing lends itself to some great laughs and some jokes that will make you think. If you don’t laugh in this movie you’re either really young or really old, or some kind of Nazi zombie or alien, or a mixture of all of those things combined. So I imagine someone like Sarah Jessica Parker won’t laugh in this movie (too harsh?).
To top it all off, this movie has some great old school video game references. The soundtrack is made with some great old school arcade sounds. So if you’re a massive nerd who lives alone in his parents basement playing video games all day, like my co-writer on this blog, or you’re just a normal video game playing legend such as myself, then you will enjoy the references in this movie.
Even Michael Cera kicks ass in this film.
Also, I’m just going to dedicate a paragraph to the girls in this movie. I know I have mentioned them throughout this post, but they deserve more than that. Holy bajeezus do they deserve more. Even the girls who are not meant to be particularly hot in this movie are very hot in their own way. The Asian girl in this film makes me forgive North Korea for everything they’ve done. But the creme de la creme in this movie is Ramona, Scott’s love interest. I never thought that I would become so attracted to girls with unnaturally coloured hair, but Ramona changed all that. She’s that kind of cutesy hot that makes you want to both throw her on the bed and have your way, and then spend 3 hours doing other things than sex, I’m not sure what you would do but I’m sure there would be something.
Ramona, so hot I have to look twice at goth chicks with pink hair nowadays.
So, in summary, why are you still reading this? Go illegally download this movie already. Or just watch it when it comes on free TV. Or you could be an idiot and pay for it, it would be worth it. Either way, I have written way too much on this article, and my fingers are getting tired. Now I’m off to exercise my wrists…probably to Ramona.
Stuff We Like: Eluvium
With all the hype in modern pop songs today, it is disappointing the number of awesome musicians and artists out there that don’t get the credit they deserve because of the way that modern radio has screwed up the so-called “norms” of modern music. If the song is not pop, rap or “R&B”, then it is deemed “inappropriate” for modern radio. You almost never hear anything else on radio, and the only way for music seekers to find new artists nowadays is through Youtube or other streaming music sites like MySpace or Soundcloud.
Hi, I’m theanimeman. And today on “Stuff We Like”, I introduce a very talented musician by the name of Eluvium.
Stuff We Like: Youtube

In this time of modern technology, where everything is in our fingertips, the one thing that has been circulating through the digital world at lightning speed would be that one thing called “streaming videos”. And there are many many companies that have jumped onto the bandwagon when it comes to giving the people what they want; and one of those companies that I am about to talk about is one of the more recognized companies. Actually, it’s one of the biggest websites on the Internet today.
Hi, I’m theanimeman. And today on “Stuff We Like”, I talk about that place that’s full of cats on keyboards and other stuff, Youtube.
So to start of this post, let me give you all a brief history about this wonderful site that is Youtube.
Youtube was founded by February 2005 by three former Paypal employees – Chad Hurley, Steve Chen, and Jawed Karim – that was later bought by Google for $1.65 billion US dollars in late 2006. Since its founding, Youtube has become the biggest video streaming and uploading site on the Internet, also being one of the biggest websites of all. The first video to have ever been published on Youtube is a video titled Me at the zoo one of the founding members of Youtube, Jawed Karim, at San Diego Zoo. After 8 years, the video is still viewable on the site today (click here to view the video). Since its early release, it has been said that Youtube receives approximately 65,000 video uploads per day, with a total of 100 million video views per day.
A typical screen you will see when on Youtube
It’s amazing to think that in the time of 5-6 years, we would all be enthralled in this site full of random videos published by people we’ve never met (and will most likely never meet ever). But I think that’s what makes Youtube so awesome. It’s made by the people, for the people. We upload stuff, but at the same time we watch other stuff. By watching videos on Youtube we can experience a lot of things, like learning something new, getting a laugh, tearing up a bit or getting a glimpse at the other side of the world from your computer desk!
But how long will it be until Youtube, and other video streaming sites, take over the television and radio?
While you’re thinking about that, maybe you should watch the video below!
